when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful

- Anaïs Nin
another interesting page from my diary reads:
(back in times)
Dearest Diary,
On a bright sunny afternoon,
Loaded with sweat, drenched in dirt
I come home tearful
Cribbing about the hardship,
Crying about the letdown
Vowing to not compete again.
Door bell rings……
Opens the door and there stands my mom with a pleasant smile across her face eagerly waiting to embrace me.
And my eyes turned red and tears starts rolling down my eyes
Without me having to explain the scenario she already knew it was the about the race I lost.
She took me in her arms, sat on the swing in backyard where the most gorgeous flowers bloomed, the dancing breeze, the chirping birds and the playful butterflies dwelled.
Butterflies were my best friends then….
I always wondered….
Where they came from?
How did their home look?
Do they have friends?
Mom told me about the tiny sweet catterpillars and their struggle to grow and blossom into these lovely colorful butterflies.
The time about the finding food,
The time about hiding itself in the cocoon,
The time about learning to spread their wings,
The time about taking risks
And finally the time and joy in flying…..
Being able to see the wonderful world beneath it….
If caterpillar gave up on coming out of the coccon and feared to spread it wings, it would have never been able to experience the joy of wandering in the mesmerizing garden. To Win the gold cup you must work hard, not be scared to lose and never ever give up. Have Hope!
This amazing story from mom brought a big bright smile to my face and there I was all ready for tomorows competition.
The true value of victory lies in the effort involved.
For a beautiful butterfly to emerge and spread its little wings…
the caterpillar did go through the adversity…
Tough times don’t last long but tough people do.
Believe in yourself
Put in effort
Have Hope!
The art of hope lies in simple pleasures.
Whenever I lack confidence or fear anything even today I flip pages of my diary and get to this page to boost up my confidence and I must say this story from mom does wonders and takes me back to the same time, the same place and the flashback begins..….Believe you me.
Thanks for stopping by
