You scream….I scream…We all scream for ice cream! 

With good behavior comes a double scoop of ice cream in every child’s world. 

I was no different at the age of five either. A treat meant going down the road holding hands with Daddy and skipping away to the ice cream parlor. 

I would stand with my nose pressed against the glass and look with wide open eyes at all the delightful flavors. Before I even left from home I’d know that I would get a double scoop of the pure Vanilla but at the store I would taste all the color ones every time I went to the ice cream counter. 

The ice cream keeper as I would call the man working at the parlor, was used to this ritual and always more than happy to hand me over spoons of strawberry and mangoes. 

As naughty and mischievous I was, all it took was one promise of a double scoop of vanilla ice cream (occasionally with rainbow sprinkles) and I would be as poised as a five year old could be! I’d have to give it to vanilla ice cream to keep out of trouble most of the time!
