TESTIMONY

On the first evening of 2014 I stood guiltily over the cash counter of the Converse store. What was I supposed to do, give up on these totally gorgeous shoes just because I made a typical this-year-I-wont-buy-too-many-shoes resolution? Well, YES! I certainly should have stuck to my resolution at least for more than a day but guilty as charged with an obsession for shoes I was soon standing in front of my resolution list and stared at the first one. The one where I wrote in crisp, bold handwriting: ‘I will not overshop for shoes.’ I had a cupboard full of shoes that I tried very hard not to think about but then as I was an expert at convincing myself when it came to shoes I just went oh well I technically didn’t overshop because I totally needed these for summer right? And I don’t have similar ones, okay well maybe I do. Alright okay, time to come clean, I bought two pairs…..Fine maybe three. But then it hit me. The golden idea that popped into my head out of nowhere. It was the first day of the new year and according to family tradition it was ditch your resolution day. So that gave me full permission to ditch my resolution SO, I’ll just go on add these to my collection but I promised not to buy too many starting the second of January I am no more guilty but proud for taking our family tradition of ditch your resolution day very seriously.
